John 6:28 Then said they unto him, what shall we do, that we might work the works of God? (KJV)

1. THEY CAME TO JESUS BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY SAW HIM DO!
2. They came to Jesus because of the miracles, loaves and fishes.

John 2:9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew); the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

Matt 14:19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. (KJV)

Matt 14:20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. (KJV)

Matt 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: (KJV)

Matt 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. (KJV)

1. WHAT DID JESUS SAY TO THEM?

1. DID HE SAY THEY COULD NOT DO THE WORKS OF GOD?

2. DID HE SAY THEY WERE NOT WORTHY?

3. NO, HE TOLD THEM WHAT HE WORK OF GOD WAS.

John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. (KJV)

III. THE WORK OF GOD IS TO BELIEVE ON JESUS.

1. THIS BELIEVE IS MORE THAN SUPERFICIALLY, IT CONSISTS OF 3 WAYS WE MUST BELIEVE!

1. WE MUST BELIEVE IN WHO HE IS,

Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

John 1:34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV)

John 11:4 When Jesus heard that, he said, this sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

John 11:27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

1. The demons know who He is.

Luke 8:28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. (KJV)

2. BELIEVE IN WHAT HE SAID!

Matt 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. (KJV)

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (KJV)

3. BELIEVE WHAT HE DID

Rev 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (KJV)

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (KJV)

Matt 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. (KJV)

John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. (KJV)

1. Greater Works

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (KJV)

Matt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
