Intro: Today is the first day of 2017. As we stand here on the edge of a New Year, it is a good time to reflect on the year that is ending and it is a good time to look forward into the year that is upon us. It is also a good time for God’s people to take inventory of their walk with the Lord.

John 17:17 Sanctify means “to render or set apart as pure,” and when we obey God’s Word, we are set apart and purified. Jesus confirms here that everything that God originally authorized to appear in the Bible is truth. This means that every law, statute, illustration, example, and principle is good for us, helping us to have a better life now by building godly character in us.
